Part of the first phase of the Los Rosales de Taos development, the entirely ground-floor Taos Villa #2, with its sprawling private courtyard, is an enchanting, authentic adobe vacation rental, in a most enviable location on Kit Carson Road. When looking for a vacation rental in Taos, you would be hard-pressed to find a more ideal location than this, and for up to four guests, Taos Villa 2 will charm you with its whimsical décor and stunning architectural accents.

A counter-height breakfast bar separating the kitchen and living room, with a dining alcove opening onto the living area, makes the entire common space ideal for socializing with your fellow vacationers. At the breakfast bar, you can sit on one of the two barstools and either face toward the kitchen to watch the chef at work, or spin around toward the living room to take part in the conversation or activities there.

One would hope that any vacation accommodations in Taos would have a well-equipped kitchen, but we believe it would be difficult to match the amenities provided in Taos Villa 2. A stainless steel French door refrigerator with lower freezer drawer, a stainless steel gas oven with four-burner stovetop, and a stainless steel dishwasher constitute the large appliances. Smaller appliances include a wine fridge and a microwave. And we’ve stocked Taos Villa 2 with a drip coffee maker, toaster and blender, as well as a plethora of kitchen tools and gadgets to allow you to prepare your favorite recipes, or to try some new ones with some of the fresh and unique ingredients you can find in Taos. You’ll be pleased with the eclectic collection of glassware, serving dishes, dinnerware and utensils provided, to showcase your culinary creations in style!

The dining “nook” is the perfect place to serve up your home-cooked meals. With one wall completely open to the living area, windows to the outside on two walls, and another  window to an interior foyer on the fourth wall, the dining area, although cozy, feels light, open and spacious.

Aside from the breakfast bar barstools mentioned earlier, the living room furniture consists of two sofas, two chairs and a coffee table, providing more than ample seating for your fellow guests (and even some additional visitors), and eclectic table lamps impart a pleasant glow to the space. There is also a large-screen television.

One amenity we consider to be a “must-have” in a Taos vacation rental is a kiva fireplace, and Taos Villa 2’s fireplace is a lovely focal point in the living area, providing not only warmth, but also a captivating display of dancing flames. (Firewood and fireplace tools are provided!)

The Master bedroom features a queen size bed and a sumptuous leather sofa. Bedside and side tables support fanciful lamps, and two benches round out the furnishings. The Master suite has an en suite bathroom with shower, and a large walk-in closet with plentiful storage.

The second bedroom has two twin beds that can be converted into a king size bed… so the room can accommodate either a couple, or two individuals who require their own beds. In the corner sits an oversized plush armchair and ottoman, and once again fantastic lamps are displayed on the bedside tables and decorative chest. This second bedroom also boasts an en suite bathroom with walk-in shower.

As a pleasant bonus, there is a third full-size bathroom off the hall from the living area to the Master suite, featuring a bathtub / shower. The architectural details in this third bathroom are stunning.

Perhaps the most striking feature of this particular vacation rental in Taos is the expansive courtyard. Surrounding a gigantic willow tree (with its own colorful toucan!), this walled, private patio is a spectacular “retreat” in itself. Seating areas are scattered throughout the garden, allowing multiple guests to utilize the space at the same time, either socializing together, or spending time more individually if solitude is preferred.

A special highlight in the courtyard is a propane gas grill, complete with propane and special grilling tools. What can beat breathing in the fresh Taos air, while grilling up a delicious treat in a peaceful setting?

Three Bedroom Villa 9

The open floor plan of the two-story Taos Villa Number 9 feels spacious, yet cozy and intimate at the same time. Additionally, there is a ground-floor courtyard off the dining area.
